Sky Hill Ranch
Napa, California/Completed 2003

This is a remodel of an old horse barn into a guest house/studio. The simplicity of the exterior belies the intricacy of detail on the interior. Every square inch of space was utilized, from the crawl space (new wine cellar) to the attic ( new library), to the space under the stairs (new pantry).

The shop was busy on this project - fabricating everything from furniture to storage walls, to toilet paper holders. No detail was left unconsidered, with the overall effect being that of a modernist jewel box encased in the modest bones of an old barn.
