The design calls for four modules, framed in tubular steel, to be connected by transparent elements that could be detached for moving. The modules are sized to fit on a trailer and to be hoisted by a crane from four pick points that bolt to the steel base structure. The mechanical and plumbing systems are attached in crawl spaces under the modules, and can be disconnected as well. Given the rigid nature of the steel frames it provides an opportunity to introduce glazing far beyond what would be possible in a stick-framed structure, so our pond view facade is entirely glass. Planted roofs and R-50 foam exterior walls insulate the structure, and the windows are a Swiss stainless steel system. The exterior walls are covered with an Ipe (ironwood) slat system, and the exterior terraces are a grayish/tan slab stone. On the interior the floors are maple; interior walls are veneer plaster. At the entry is a moss-covered fountain wall to be constructed by the Lundberg Design shop. Client: Withheld
