Well, people and dogs.

Diesel was my first Lab, and I suppose my first experience with unconditional love. His entire life was spent about five feet away from me, except of course when he was chasing down something I'd just thrown (sticks were his favorite). He had a coffee table-clearing tail, tiny paws, a strange barrel-shaped body, and a pin head. He was to all of us perfect. He was a friend to everyone, full of devotion and energy, and a great director of Human Relations. He was a good boy. Diesel aka "the Man" 1993-2004

Chili is Diesel's sequel. Diesel spent a year trying to train her with little to show for his efforts. An even more rabid retriever than he, the discovery of a tennis ball in the office can disrupt productive work for hours. A physical beauty in all the ways Diesel was not, she is happily unaware of her appearance and remains a rough and tumble tomboy as she crashes through our lives. We just have to hope that we (and our clothes, cars, and furniture) will survive it.
